Safety and Mission Assurance Engineering Contract II (SMAEC II) - Pre-Solicitation Notice - 80JSC018R0006 (№14190714)

This pre-solicitation synopsis, issued under solicitation number 80JSC018R0006, updates previously issued synopsis #80JSC017DRFP0010, SMAEC II DRFP, issued on September 14, 2017. Solicitation number 80JSC018R0006 also supersedes the previous solicitation numbers NNJ17611006 and NNJ17611006LA used for SMAEC II.

NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Safety and Mission Assurance Engineering Contract II (SMAEC II).

The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.

All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.

The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about January 17, 2018 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about February 22, 2018.

NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at

You are notified the purpose of modification 01 is to post the SMAEC II RFP. This RFP replaces the Draft RFP in its entirety.

1. This procurement is a full-and-open competition.

2. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541330 and $38.5M, respectively.

3. The due date for proposals is February 22, 2018 at 1:30 PM Central Standard Time. See the SMAEC II RFP for further details.
