Synopsis: Added: Aug 08, 2017 8:50 am The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office in Grand Prairie, Texas intends to issue a solicitation for the provision of Prosthetic and Orthotic services for the inmate population of the Federal Medical Center located in Lexington, Kentucky. The contract period shall consist of the Effective Date of Award through September 30, 2018 and four 12 month option periods for renewal at the unilateral discretion of the Government. The requirement for these services will consist professional medical services in the field of prosthetics, orthotics, and orthopedic footwear installation. The applications include upper extremity, lower extremity, individual inner/outer footwear needs and any other custom appliances as determined by the clinical director. The contractor shall also perform repairs to prosthetic devices as deemed necessary by the FMC. The schedule will normally consist of bi-monthly visits (approximately 3 hours in length) each month per contract year (approximately 24 per year), to evaluate for the need of custom orthotic and prosthetic fabrication, measure and fit custom items. The work will be scheduled will be between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:00 pm and Monday through Friday excluding Federal Holidays. The solicitation will be available on or about August 11, 2017 and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The site provides downloading instructions. Hard copies of the solicitation will NOT be available. Any contractor interested in obtaining a contract award with the Federal Bureau of Prisons must register at www.sam.gov. All future information about this solicitation, including solicitation amendments will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The anticipated date for receipt of quotations is September 1, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. CST. However, this is a projected estimate and quoters should refer to the solicitation (1449 -Block #08) for the actual date quotations are due. The solicitation will be unrestricted. The anticipated date of award is October 1, 2017.
